World Book Day at Waterloo Lodge School 2023

The theme for World Book Day this year was Disney or Fairy Tale characters.  All staff and pupils celebrated the joy of World Book Day by dressing as their favourite characters.

During Form time, pupils read their favourite books, created their own book tokens as part of a competition, and designed their own character creations.

All the pupils looked amazing and choosing a winner was incredibly difficult, after much deliberation the winner was awarded to our very own

Hades from Hercules (Year 9 pupil Penny), who stayed in character throughout the day.

Generous donations were received from staff, pupils and our loyal taxi drivers to raise an incredible £82 which will be added to our funds for our chosen charity:  Derian House Children’s Hospice.  We are hoping to raise £1000.00 in total before the end of the academic year to celebrate their 30 years of care for seriously ill children and young people across the North West.
